A Stirrup Cup is a cocktail that was named after a traditional drink given to guests before they depart on a long journey. This drink was usually wine, but for some reason this awesome cocktail was named after it. This Brandy Drink is a phenomenal way to send someone off on a journey, if they’re not driving of course. If I were leaving and someone handed me this, I would be very happy. Watch below to learn how to make the Stirrup Cup and look at the bottom of the page for the printable version of the recipe.
The drink is very tart up front, the Cherry Heering really shines through here. The drink finishes with the Oak flavor from the Brandy and ultimately this drink ends very well. I wouldn’t go as far to say the drink is perfectly balanced as it’s a little bit on the sweet side, I would gladly drink it again.
