The Miami Ice Tea is an interesting drink. Despite the amount of booze in it; the drink remains quite smooth and refreshing. This drink is actually taken from the book Craft of the Cocktail by Dale Degroff. So check this link to view the book for even more recipes.
So to make this drink we need a few basic alcohols that most of us home bartenders should have on hand:
- 1/2 oz Vodka
- 1/2 oz Gin
- 1/2 oz Light Rum
- 1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
- 1 oz Cranberry Juice
This drink will be built in a Collins glass or any 12-16 oz glass that you feel like putting it in. I prefer a Collins glass though because they just make me look a little less idiot-like. So here’s how to make the drink:
- Take a Highball glass with ice and add all liquor and Cranberry juice.
- Top with 7up or another lemon lime soda.
- Garnish with a lemon slice. (optional)
So this one has a nice amount of alcohol and yet it’s really a fizzy refreshing drink for a summer day. I would certainly drink this again and if you enjoy a nice peach flavor in your drink I suggest it to you as well.
