The name of the Jack Rose Cocktail comes from the ingredients and the color combination. Apple Brandy was also known as Apple Jack because of the old time method for producing it known as “Apple Jacking”. This process used cold winter temperatures to freeze a hard cider mixture, the water in hard cider would freeze and be removed gradually. This would leave behind a higher alcohol product than what the original hard cider was. In current days we obviously distill Apple Brandy as it produces a much higher quality product.
Jack Rose Apple Brandy Cocktail
- 2 oz Apple Brandy
- 3/4 oz Grenadine
- 3/4 oz Lime Juice
- Add all ingredients into a shaker tin.
- Add ice and shake well.
- Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a lime wheel.
