So it’s time for Halloween and that means it’s time for gimmick styled drinks galore. Yay! This drink has a really nice “Boozy Vanilla Milkshake” thing going on and I really like it. Even though most Halloween drinks are filled with sweets and gimmicks they are sometimes pretty good. This is one of those cases.
So this drink recipe originally did not call for marshmallows as a garnish, but it seemed appropriate seeing as black food coloring helped make a nice set of ghost heads. It went nicely with the theme and even I could do it without screwing it up too much.
So here’s what we’re going to gather up for the recipe:
- 2 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Vanilla Simple Syrup (Recipe here)
- 1 oz Heavy Cream
- 2 oz Soda Water
- Marshmallow Garnish (optional)
It’s worth noting that in lieu of the Vanilla Simple Syrup you can just use regular simple syrup with a small splash of Vanilla Extract. This is a good idea if you don’t feel like making a big batch of it, but if you’re having a party and need more I’ve included the recipe. So now that we have that all out of the way, let’s make the cocktail.
Liquefied Ghost Recipe
- Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker.
- Fill halfway with ice and shake well.
- Strain into a chilled Coupe glass.
- Garnish with your Marshmallow garnish.
Like I said earlier, it tastes much like a boozy vanilla shake. I like using Heavy cream instead of milk or Half&Half because the texture is much nicer. You can use others if you want, but I don’t make them that way.
